Even though I think of highwoods.co.uk as being a Colchester wide community website, I guess most people visiting will think that if they don't live in Highwoods then it isn't really for them. So for a while I have been thinking about creating another Colchester related website - and now I have. It is called Colchester Blog (colchesterblog.co.uk), and yes it is a blog site, based on the fantastic Wordpress Blog.
Quick notes about ColchesterBlog.co.uk
- I am looking for people living in Colchester who want to submit blog posts. I plan on writing lots of content, but I also want to encourage lots of other people to also submit content. It can be about their hobbies and interests, or charity related, their business, tourist attraction, their restaurant/pub/wine bar etc.
- There will be competitions run where people are invited to write about a particular theme.
- About Colchester, local events and tourist attractions
- Special Offers
So you get the picture, a website about Colchester and it's people, tourist attrations and businesses. Do you think this is a good idea, or is it doomed to fail like many of the blogs out their, I would like to know your thoughts. I think it is quite original and a good way to publish local information, but then I am bias!
